| As part of the response to Hurricane Katrina, the 218th eSB deployed Task Force Varn to St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. This task force consisted of the 163rd Support Battalion with augmentation from the 133rd Military Police Company, the 1052nd Transportation Company, and other South Carolina National Guard soldiers. This task force provided security, water purification, traffic control, and commodities distribution support. |
