Chief Warrant Officer 4 Kent B. Puffenbarger assumed duties as the South Carolina Army National Guard Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) on 1 February 2014. As the CCWO, Puffenbarger serves as the personal advisor to The Adjutant General for South Carolina for all Warrant Officer related issues and career management for Warrant Officers in the South Carolina National Guard.
CW4 Puffenbarger joined the South Carolina Army National Guard in 1986. After attending basic and advanced individual training, Puffenbarger was assigned to Troop D 1st-101st Cavalry as an Observation Scout Helicopter Repairer. In 1989, he attended the Warrant Officer Candidate Course and Initial Entry Rotary-Wing flight training and was subsequently assigned to the 1st-151st t Aviation Battalion as a helicopter pilot. As a member of 1st-151st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, CW4 Puffenbarger has served overseas in both Kosovo and Iraq.
