POSITION TITLE:  FACILITY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

PAY PLAN/SERIES/GRADE:  GS-1640-09

SALARY RANGE:  $47,448 - $61,678 per annum (Includes a 14.16% Locality Adjustment)

ORGANIZATION & LOCATION: TAG-CMFO, Columbia, SC

UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT:  Must be assigned to compatible military position in any unit of the SCARNG

Ø        If position becomes permanent, individual may become permanent without further competition.

2.        Employees selected for full-time positions that require mandatory training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) will have twelve (12) months from the date of hire to complete the required course/s. Failure of Technician employees to complete required NGPEC courses within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.

3.        If applicable, the individual selected must:

Ø       Qualify for assignment to a compatible military position

Ø       Meet minimum physical and screening requirements

Ø       Meet minimum aptitude requirements for the compatible MOS \ AFSC

Ø       Attain/Maintain the security clearance

Ø       Have a state driver’s license

Ø       Participate in the Direct Deposit Program

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position is located in ARNG Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO). Facilities Management Branch. The primary purpose of this position of this is to program, manage, schedule and direct the operations, maintenance and repair, rehabilitation and improvements to ARNG facilities in a geographically separated area. Additionally, this position administers the state NGB energy management program. Supervises the work of the function. Supervisory duties require less than 25% of the incumbent’s time.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

General: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of practices and procedures related to property management; general maintenance systems, materials requirements, and scheduling procedures.

    Job Elements:

 

        I.  Experience in preparing and directing budget and funding requirements in support of minor construction, facility operations and maintenance programs. 

 

      II. Experience in facility management or managing real property operations that required the candidate to plan, manage, monitor, evaluate, and control the work sequences of job/tasks, and provide for the material and manpower needs at the activity.    

 

      III. Experience that requires a general knowledge of techniques used in the construction and maintenance field. 

 

     IV. Experience in  preparing and directing programs to support minor construction and facility maintenance projects. 

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:   A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in a accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience.  The fields must have been directly related to the type of work of the position, i.e., Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Arts, Property Management and Business Management/Administration.
