3-Army Capstone ConceptThe mission of the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) Leader Development Strategy (LDS) is to educate, train, and provide experiences to progressively develop leaders to prevail in a (ULO) globally and in the state of South Carolina. Unified Land Operations

The LDS requires balanced commitment to the three pillars of leader development: training, education, and experience. It guides our effort in the development of officers, non-commissioned officers, warrant officers, and civilian leaders of our Army. It considers the development of leaders to be a career- long process. Our future leaders must expect complexity and understand that they will have to operate decentralized. If we are to develop leaders prepared for the future security environment, we must ensure that the “scrimmage is harder than the game.”
