The mission of the 3rd Battalion (NCOA) is to present quality instruction to selected Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and Active Component soldiers.
The mission requires that emphasis be placed on leadership, training subordinates, and the duties, responsibilities, and authorities of the Noncommissioned Officer.
 
Student  Information

     Mail will be picked up by the S1 daily, distributed to the respective Branch Chiefs, and then distributed by them to each squad.  Mail is picked up and delivered each day except for Sunday.  Mail or packages should be sent to the following address:

Height/weight Standards
     You are expected to comply with AR 600-9 and will be weighed during in-processing.  Students not meeting the weight table will be taped.  Those exceeding the allowed body fat will be returned to home station.  A letter will be sent to the soldier’s unit commander and to the respective State Adjutant General for National Guard students and Major Subordinate Command for USAR students.

 
Banking 
     The closest banking operation is located on main post Fort Jackson, approx 15 miles away.  The local PX will cash a check for $20.00 over the amount of purchase.  An ATM is available in the main atrium of Building 3800.
 
Dining Facility
     The Dining Facility hours of operation are designed to work in conjunction with courses being conducted.  Courses have set times to eat to avoid long waits.  Please adhere to the meal times published in your training schedule. 
 
Religious Service
     Students are given the opportunity to attend religious services conducted in the Chapel at the SCARNG Training Center.  Time is planned into the training schedule for each course.
 
End of Course Critque
     End of course critique sheets are used to help us improve instructional standards and support services. They are reviewed and acted upon by the appropriate staff sections; therefore, candid comments are solicited.  Negative comments should be in the form of constructive criticism (please offer a suggestion to correct the problem). If you have an important comment or issue of immediate concern, we urge you not to wait until the end of the course to critique it.  We would like to correct any pressing issues before you leave.
 
Dress Standards
     The standards governing uniform wear and personal appearance will be observed IAW AR 670-1, Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia.  Duty uniforms are the Army physical fitness uniform (PFU) for physical training and Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) for all other training.  DCUs and ACUs are also authorized for wear.  Berets are authorized for wear in garrison - patrol caps are authorized for wear only in the field.  Students will ensure that uniforms have correctly placed name tags, SSI, rank, etc.
 
Disciplinary Action
       Personnel who fail to meet acceptable academic, appearance, behavioral, or attendance standards are subject to release and immediate return to their home station.  Notification will be made through channels to the appropriate commands.
 
Drugs/Alcohol
     The consumption of alcohol in any form is strongly discouraged.  Alchol use by PLDC is prohibited unless authorized by the SGL.  Public consumption is prohibited.  Alcohol is authorized in the dayrooms.  The possession and/or use of illegal drugs is cause for immediate UCMJ action and dismissal from the course.  You may be remanded to Fort Jackson military police.
